A very carefully researched book, which I read avidly and greatly enjoyed. For this new edition Magee has added three new chapters and made many minor revisions and corrections throughout.
Retaining from Kant the distinction between the noumenal and the phenomenal, he embraces the schpoenhauer of Eastern philosophy to the former and that of empiricism to the latter.
